RHS Chelsea Flower Show

The opportunity to visit this years glorious Chelsea Flower show was too good to miss. With wining show gardens by Andy Sturgeon, Chris Beardshaw, Mark Gregory and Sarah Eberle it didn’t disappoint.

There was a profusion of lush green themes at the show giving a great sense of cool and calm to the displays. Whites in the form of glorious foxgloves - Digitalis purpurea f. albiflora, Angel Wings -Senecio Candidas, the ever popular Trachelospermum Jasminoides and seemingly the designers favourite - decorative Cow parsley - Anthriscus Ravenswing provided fabulous punctuation.

By contrast the CAMFED (Campaign for Female Education) Garden brought Zimbabwe to Chelsea. The hot red earth gave the visitor immediate impact and understanding of how difficult it is to successfully grow crops in the searingly hot African climate. It was no surprise to see this garden win the Peoples Choice Award in the Space to Grow category - so deserving of our support.

There was of course the usual display of floral dresses with practical footwear for what can be a very long day and those who were first timers in heels.. they will learn!

Looking forward to next year already!
